What is the range of characters that the .JP extension can accommodate?
It is possible to register Kanji, Hiragana, Katakana, the letters a to z, the numbers 0 to 9 and the hyphen “-“. However, it is not possible to register domains that begin or end with a hyphen “-“
Are there any specific criteria for registering a .JP domain?

To secure in these extensions, the domain owner must have a contact address and telephone from Japan.
.CO.JP:
To secure in these extension, the domain owner must be a company incorporated in Japan (each company can request a single domain).
If you do not meet this requirement, we can register the domain in the name of our local representatives and then make it available to you. This option has an additional cost (Trustee Service).
Note:
